Vasu Dhara

Vasudhara is located in Mana village which is about four kilometers from Badrinath and the place where we had our programs - Kashi Math. I don't know much about this place but what I came to know from the devotees was that this is the place where the eight vasus are eternally performing yajna. The waterfall is actually ghee falling and the heap below the waterfall is ice.The people in the picture are actually devotees trying to climb the ice hill.

In Badrinath, we visited many places - Vyasa Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Vasu dhara, Muchukunda Cave, Charan Pahadi and more, some of which I may write an article on. :))
Out of all the places we went, the most memorable place was Vasu dhara. From Mana village to Vasu dhara, its about 5-7km. It was a very long and a tiring walk. It seemed to not come at all but since we were in the middle of the mountain ranges and there was no way going back, so we continued to walk and with great determination we reached the holy place. We prayed nicely and then we started returning because our legs were aching and we really wanted to reach our room.
Fortunately, while returning I and my grandmother did not have much problems although I fell once and twisted my ankle but other devotees were telling that it was almost impossible for them to walk back.
When we reached Badrinath, hot hot prasad was ready, we ate it with full gratitude to the people who cooked it.
We returned to our room and we fell like dead logs on the bed....!!!
