Compassion

Compassion is a virtue in which the person imbibing this quality actually feels the suffering the other person is going through and tries to help him. Many people may feel pity on other's suffering, but that is not compassion. Compassion is to do something to help the person.
The highest form of compassion is to give Krishna Conciousness to the suffering souls of this material world.
Some examples of compassion are:
- Srila Prabhupad: He left His wonderful place in Vrindavan where Lord Krishna performed his pastimes and came to America which was filled with hippies who neither believed nor respected God and wasted their time just drinking and other horrible activities. What was the need for Prabhupad to go to such a miserable place?? It was His compassion towards them that he felt it necessary for Him to go to America and preach Krishna Conciousness.
Maharaj says -"As soon as we think we are compassionate, we are in illusion. We are just instruments of Srila Prabhupada's compassion."
- From CC- Vasudeva Datta: He asked Caitanya Mahaprabhu to give him all the sins of the all the people in this world. That was the level of his compassion towards the people of this world that he was willing to suffer in place of them.
"Compassion is an essential element of love."- Quote by H.H Radhanath Swami Maharaj.
