Studies

Studying should be an interesting activity or should be made interesting. Studying is not just opening the book, reading it, and closing it without really understanding the essence.In order to learn things with full satisfaction, you need to read it with full concentration, understand the topic very well and finally revise the points you have understood.
Studies comes to use only when you remember for a long period of time. Suppose I learn about the topic Constitution and I take two hours to learn it. Later, if I want to revise the chapter after one month, it is not correct to take the same amount of time to revise it. If I do so, it mostly means
- I have not used the right method of learning- Our Principal taught us a method of learning in which you remember the topic for a long time. This method is called the association method. Here is an activity which you may try out-
a) Read the following words only ONCE and then try to remember it and write it down in a piece of paper in the same order and sequence. After doing so, check out whether what you have written matches with the one given below. If so the put a tick mark next to the word and go on doing so till your word doesn't match with this one. If it doesn't match, then put a cross sign next to the word and do not put correct marks after that. Count the number of correct marks.Remember honesty is the best policy...!!

b) It might be quite difficult for you to remember so many words. Here to remember them, this method is used.
This method has three criteria-
    1. Read the word and get a picture of the word in 3 secs.
    2.Get the detail of the picture.
    3. Connect the first word with the second and so on and while connecting forget the previous word.
In this case - We can think that Krishna is with Radha in the temple worshiped by the pujari with the devotees chanting and dancing for the Lord and then the lecture starts and this lecture is going on in Mayapur with Prabhupad giving the lecture and then He leaves for New York where He sees cars and goes to the park to conduct kirtan with the help of Mrdanga and there is a huge crowd hearing him and dancing with joy..
In this way we can easily remember all the words and if you want you can try out the activity again.
How to implement this in studies?? Make points and then remember these points with the help of this method.
It might take some extra time but then later on you will be able to revise it with ease.
