The Leap of Faith

To make this subject more clear, I would like to tell a story-
Once there was a devotee of Lord Shiva who was struggling due to extreme poverty and wanted to be rich. With this desire he approached Lord Shiva . Lord Shiva who is Ashutosh - one who is pleased very easily, had been contented with his devotion over the years. So he appeared before the devotee and asked him the cause of his sadness. Immediately the devotee explained his background and concluded that he wanted to lead a comfortable and a prosperous life. Lord Shiva directed them to go to Vrindavan and meet a great saint Sanatan Goswami who possessed the Touchstone and would give it to him when he asked for it.
Sanatan Goswami is one of the six Goswamis who lived in Vrindavan . Their glories are unlimited and their depth of devotion towards the Lord is infinite.
The devotee was extremely delighted. Thanking Lord Shiva, he and his wife journeyed to Vrindavan experiencing great difficulties on the way. When they reached, they saw Sanatan Goswami absorbed in  meditation of the lotus feet of the Lord. On reaching they approached him and asked him whether he had a Touchstone which would convert anything in contact to gold. He replied with a yes. The brahmin was extremely happy and requested the Goswami to hand it over to them kindly. Sanatan Goswami replied that it was lying somewhere near the garbage pile next to the hut. The brahmin was quite puzzled , however he went to search it out. There it was, shining immensely reflecting the rays of the sun such that the devotee was blinded by its radiance. The brahmin was overjoyed and began to touch a few things and was amazed with the change it caused as everything was turning into gold. Just as they were about to return, the devotee looked back as he wanted to know the reason why Sanatan Goswami had thrown away the Touchstone which everyone in the world wanted to possess. He had this intelligence and was not covered by the beauty of the Touchstone because he was blessed by Lord Shiva. So they approached him and enquired as to whether he had something more valuable and precious than the Touchstone. Immediately Sanatan Goswami replied, "Yes, I have something really more precious and priceless than the Touchstone. But to acquire that treasure you must throw away this Touchstone into the Ganges far away. " The Brahmin had faith in the words of Sanatan Goswami and did as he was told. As a result, he and his wife were allowed access to the real treasure- the holy name of the Lord and true devotion towards it.
So this story illustrates as to how you must take the leap of faith in order to get Krishna in the form of his holy name. This leap of faith is the act of giving up or leaving all the material wealth behind on the basis of the faith that you will acquire something more precious and valuable such as the holy name along with the joy experienced when chanted. Anyone can chant the holy name but one can only get the joy and experience its pricelessness when you have faith in it.
As His Holiness Radhanath Swami says -
"Faith is that substance through which we can see the invisible , through which we can connect  to  the Absolute Truth, God. "
The present Touchstones are the touch phones, ipads, iphones, etc. Of course these are very useful for oneself but they will become more efficient if they are used in the service of the Lord and His devotees.
Thus I would like to conclude by saying that in our lives, the Leap of Faith is extremely important in order to overcome the illusions and acquire the real treasure - Prema Bhakti.
