The Holy City of Varanasi
Varanasi , also known as Benaras- named by the British, is situated on the bank of river Ganga in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a very ancient, traditional and holy city considered important to be visited at least once in a lifetime and is especially dear to those who worship Lord Shiva. There is a temple of Kashi Vishwanath located in the heart of Varanasi.According to the scriptures, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati once resided there.
Maharaj visited Varanasi during his journey home. When Maharaj walked through the streets of the holy city, he observed a funeral procession and while he did so, he got a realization- "It's not the body that people love, but the soul. The body is a temporary vehicle. Without the soul, the body is like a car without a driver. I see through my eves, smell through my nose, taste through my tongue, bear through ears, feel through my skin, think through my brain, and love through my heart. But who am I? Who is the witness, enjoyer, and sufferer that activates my body?"
I pray that I may be able to visit this sacred city and get purified.

Someday we will all go there together.
