Chikka Tirupathi
Chikka Tirupathi as the name suggests is a miniature of the real Tirupathi. The story behind this temple is- Agni the fire God during the incineration of the forest herbs named khandava vana causes burns to the serpent Tashaka. Tashaka curses him for this act that he will lose all his "Tejas". Being disturbed by this curse, Agni comes to Lord Krishna , who suggests that the way out is to please Lord Vishnu who can restore his "tejas". So Agni performs penance and pleases Lord Vishnu. With great joy, Agni builds a magnificent temple for the Lord Venkateshwara at Chikka Tirupathi. The Lord here is named as "Prasanna Venkateshwara". All utsavams held at Tirupathi are also conducted here.
We had gone to Chikka Tirupathi which is just around 35-40 kilometers from Bangalore. The deity is really beautiful and the best part is there is very less or no rush at all. So you can take peaceful Darshan of the Lord and any number of times. The surroundings of the temple are also very pleasant decorated with monkeys all around jumping from one pole to another.
